The unfortunate part about documenting things like my 2013 New Year’s resolutions is the ability to look back and realize I didn’t accomplish any of them. Not one. I can’t believe it has been a year since I didn’t become a better person. Last year’s resolutions always turn into this year’s shortcomings because apparently things like complaining less and showering more are just really hard for me. While I truly do enjoy everyone’s year in review Facebook status’ where they let everyone know all the great things they have accomplished like marrying the man of their dreams, running their first marathon, birthing the most well-behaved baby, or finding love in a hopeless place, my 2013 accomplishments were a little more modest, but for all of which I feel #blessed.
- Held on to a pair of sunglasses for the whole year
- Kept a house plant alive (most of it)
- Unclogged my bathtub all by myself
- Learned how to use an espresso machine
- Moved on from dreams of one day becoming a latte artist
- Didn’t chop off all my hair
- Only dyed my hair
oncethree times - Dyed my eyebrows
- Memorized my PO Box number
- Bought many water bottles which I can use in 2014 to try to drink more water
- Bought many work out clothes which I can use in 2014 to try to work out
- Learned how to reset my check engine light without getting the engine checked
- Had fewer panic attacks at the grocery store
- Gave away three garbage bags of my “skinny clothes”
- Wrote 22 pointless blog posts
- Successfully turned 29
- Stopped counting the number of strands of hair I lose every day and I seemingly still have the same amount of hair
- Remembered my parents wedding anniversary
- Didn’t poison myself
- Drank a sufficient amount of mimosas
Not sure how I’m going to do it but here’s to topping last year and making the mimosa 2014!
