When you share a bed with someone I have found that you are also sharing something else: dreams. I call this dream sharing. Dream sharing is when a dream enters reality and someone is there to witness this escape from the subconscious.<\/p>\n
Mike has a wild imagination and personality when he\u2019s awake, so when he\u2019s asleep it seems that there is no gatekeeper and anything goes. Some times I think he has a full blown circus going on in there when he turns the lights out. Every night\u2019s feature presentation is a little bit more amusing\u2026 and a little bit more disturbing. If Freud\u2019s theory of dreams being a representation of his unconscious thoughts and motivations is true \u2013 should I be worried?<\/p>\n
I have grouped his dreams into three categories:<\/p>\n
First there are the delusional dreams. These are the most common of the dreams he shares with me and my favorite. Last night’s occurrence was him screaming, “AREBA!” in my ear and going on to explain that he was trying to warn off an attacking dog. On another occasion I sneezed which resulted in him grabbing me because he thought my head had fallen off. These dreams only give a little light as to what’s really going on in there but when when something escapes his brain into my earshot, I force myself to write down these little gems so I can be sure to make fun of him in the morning.<\/p>\n
