Do your hangover a favor and upgrade your brunch. Antibes Bistro is a hidden diamond amongst lower east side street ruff. The French eatery offers a brunch and champagne cocktail list that will lure you in the door.
Antibes feels like you’re in a rustic home display at Anthropolgie. The menu is short and sweet and the portions are much bigger than their small prices suggest. The must-have is the fresh fruit soaked in mimosa with halva threads. So, what else can you soak in mimosa?
The menu is littered with inexpensive fluted drinks, which are decorated with fruit ornaments. When you can’t decide on one; try them all. With champagne companions like mango puree and guava and fresh mint, the hair of the dog never tickled your tongue this delightfully.

Special: $9 Bottomless
Rating: 2 Mimosas
I’ve been to this Upper East Side spot twice and I give it one mimosa for each killer headache I got. The first time I thought it was a fluke but the second time confirmed that their mimosas produce unusual side effects.
For the brave - the bottomless mimosas are $9 and come in crafts for the table, so you don’t have to wait for the waiter to come by after every glass. The bubbly mixture appears to be heavy on the champagne, which I usually applaud, but I think the brand they use is poisonous.
The food isn’t impressive and is nothing you couldn’t whip up at home. Not sure if it’s worth the trip considering about an hour after I was hungry again and felt like I had been brunched in the face.

Special: $11.95 bottomless 12-3
Rating: 2 Mimosas
The bottomless mimosas are $11.95 with the purchase of an entree. I got the huevos rancheros both times and was satisfied. The other brunch items didn’t attract my attention, but it is a BBQ place. If ribs and orange juice went together better I would have gone that route, but cry me a mimosa.
